17 Hours later...

...and I'm here! And it's hot! Really really really hot. The first thing was the heat. It hit me like crazy as I stepped off the plane. The Bangkok airport is really nice too, a lot nicer than I was expecting it to be. Lindsey was at the Starbucks just like we had planned (Thank God) and I had a few more people in tow and we set off trying to get a cab, and somehow managed to get stuck on one level of the airport, not able to get back to where the taxis were waiting. That took us a bit of time to figure out, but once we did it was easy! Our taxi took us to Khao San and as soon as we got there we recognized it. Straight out of The Beach. Crazy. Busy, people everywhere, food, hawkers, people juggling crystal balls, advertising, cats, bars, loud music, drunks, stray dogs, hotels everywhere, and even mcdonalds subway and burger king. It's quite a sight. All of the tourists hanging around look like dirty hippies and it's easy to see why! Because it's so hot!!

Our room is tiny, but clean, and our double beds are pushed together to make one big one...it'll be a cozy night!! I'm happy we have our own bathroom and shower as well! I think that will be a luxury that we wont' be affording too much longer....

Anyway, it is 1am here and I'm feel pretty tired seeing how I barely slept all last night and lost a day in my travels. I am going to head back up to our room down the street and get ready for the first night in Bangkok!

Oh, and our hotel has free breakfast...how great is that!
